Caernarfon Town defeated ten-man Barry Town United 2-0 at The Oval thanks to goals from two substitutes.

Jack Kenny and Sam Jones, both introduced in the last quarter of the match, scored in the final ten minutes to elevate them into the top six.

The victory marks only the second time the Canaries have won consecutive games this season.

Telor Williams struck his free-kick from the edge of the area too powerfully, with the ball rising too high.

Winger Sion Bradley beat three men on the right before cutting in and shooting with his left foot. The shot went narrowly wide of the far post.

Another chance fell in Caernarfon’s favour when Mike Hayes played fellow summer signing Paulo Mendes through on goal. The latter’s shot was too central and Gould saved at ease.

Evan Press came close for the visitors as he headed wide from a David Cotterill free-kick.

Hayes found space in the box from a change of direction, but his shot was saved by Gould at his near post.

The hosts showcased their attacking threat with a well-crafted counter-attack with ended with Darren Thomas finding Bradley in the box, whose header under pressure was too weak.

David Cotterill had an attempt from range go wide just before the break.

Curtis Jemmett-Hutson had the first opportunity of the second half when he was found in space in the right-hand side of the box. Josh Tibbetts saved well.

Barry’s talisman Kayne McLaggon had the next attempt, as his shot from similar range went high and wide of the woodwork.

The visitors were reduced to ten-men early in the second-half when defender Luke Cooper received a second yellow card for a tackle on Hayes on the edge of the area.

Tibbetts came to Caernarfon’s rescue again to bravely come off his line and save a McLaggon strike.

The dismissal seemingly led to the game opening up, with both sides having more chances on goal.

Set-piece specialist David Cotterill had a free-kick attempt from distance smash off the under side of the upright.

Substitute Jack Kenny broke the deadlock late on as he fired a volley home from inside the area.
