It is with great sadness that we share the sudden news of the passing of Mike Evans, a visionary in the promotion of Welsh Choral Music in every aspect of the eminent “Black Mountain” products.
An unassuming friend who did more for Welsh Choral singing than the more famous majority.
He successfully organised three extensive tours of the Black Mountain Chorus across USA.
A Mumbles legend who took Wales to the World. Rest in Peace, pal, you’ll be sorely missed.
The Facebook tribute on his passing 20/04/21.
“Mike Evans has left the chapel.
It is with deepest regret that we announce the sudden passing of Mike Evans at ITU in Morriston Hospital on Monday 17th May 2021.
The only positive from this is that on Tuesday 11th May, in front of all the staff on the unit, Michael Evans and Llinos Daniel became husband and wife. It took him all of 25 years!
Mike hopes that all the support and friendship you have given him over the years you will extend to Llinos.
Mike made many friends through his personal projects from Radio City, Ryan, Black Mountain Records, Black Mountain Mobile Studio, Swansea Sound and the Black Mountain Male Chorus of Wales across America.
He thanks every individual who supported him (there are even some unfinished projects which will be continued…)
His greatest pride of all of these was the uniting of Llinos and Michael’s names.
A private funeral will be held due to current restrictions, with a full celebration of Mike’s life to be held when circumstances allow.
Love and happiness to you all.
